What a great week! Today is always such a somber day but at AHS we were able to focus on the positive and we challenged students to find time to do a good deed for others.
Please be sure to check out the Parent Flyer's link for updated information on events around the schools, town and beyond! Look for the link on the right hand sidebar of this blog.
Picture Day is Wednesday, September 16. All students must have their picture taken for their school ID. Any students wishing to order pictures should pick up an order form in the front office.
Ashland Ultimate will be raffling off a pair of tickets to see Ed Sheeran at Gillette Stadium on Friday, September 25th. Raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5, or 15 for $10. Raffle tickets will be sold during all three lunches from Tuesday, September 15 through Tuesday, September 22. The winner will be announced on Thursday, September 24. Questions can be addressed to Mr. Moshkovitz.
Wednesday we met with each class to review building expectations and share important information.
Every class watched a video from Mike Smith titled "Judgement" as we kicked off the theme of "We All Matter". Check him out at Mike Smith Live. We will be using his Character Education series this year in 9th grade Wellness classes.
The freshmen learned how to log-in to their iStudent accounts. (Please feel free to reach out me or Mrs. Chaney if anyone is having trouble doing this.)
The seniors filled out information cards for their caps and gowns....June 5th will be here far too quickly. I have met with the class leadership and advisors over the past year and as a group made the decision that the Class of 2016 would all walk wearing one color. When the students asked what color and heard "Ashland blue with white accents" there was a huge round of applause. It was amazing and our rep from Josten's said she had never seen such a wonderful response. I can tell the Class of 2016 is going to continue to be another very special graduating class.
Today was our school-wide Positive Behavior Supports activity as well as Convocation. As always it was a crazy, fun-filled, educational day. Teams of 15 mixed grade students competed in a scavenger hunt that allowed them to learn about (or get a refresher) on our core values of Respect, Responsibility. Integrity, Involvement, and Achievement. They had fun while learning a lot about the culture at AHS.
